Proteins are macromolecules made up of amino acids, building blocks of lean tissue (muscle mass, bones, skin appendages). They are divided into animal proteins (meat, eggs, fish, milk) with high nutritional value. They contain all the essential amino acids and vegetable proteins (pulses, cereals, dried fruit), considered incomplete because they lack a defined limiting amino acid. Protein supplements are used by athletes because they promote muscle recovery following workouts, stimulating protein synthesis and promoting muscle growth while providing the necessary substrates for protein synthesis. There are protein supplements enriched with vitamin B6, which thanks to its action promotes the metabolisation of amino acids. The isolated proteins are obtained through a more elaborate and innovative process, to separate the protein component from the other lipid, mineral and lactose components as much as possible, to obtain an amino acid content of up to 90-95%.
